Visiting Students: Flight booking update

Confirmed visiting students should now be able to book their flight through Egencia, NYU’s preferred travel partner and a site aggregator similar to Kayak. Please see the following egencia instructions for info on how to book your flight through Egencia.

Remember, while you may choose to purchase your flight at any time and through any carrier, if you book through Egencia your flight details will automatically be transferred into NYU Traveler at the time of booking, and you will not have to register the flight again later.

Please keep in mind you MUST arrive on August 26th and participate in the mandatory orientation. Housing is available only for the dates of the program (August 26th – December 19th) so if you plan to arrive early or leave late, please be aware you will be responsible for your own accommodations.

  1. Hi Alejandro,

Are students in the Shanghai program required to buy a round-trip ticket or can they buy a one-way ticket? I ask because some countries have visa rules that require you have purchased an airline reservation out of the country before you are allowed to enter.

    Thanks,
    Todd

    • Todd,

The Chinese consulate does not require that you present a ticket with your visa application. You can book either a one-way or round-trip ticket.
